First of all, let me begin by saying thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much for everyone who took their time to check out the blog, who told their friends about it, who gave me feedback, and those who genuinely supported FreshMFKer and all the writers on the team.
I mean this with the utmost with sincerity, whenever I would receive a compliment from the blog, it meant the fucking world to me. I honestly never figured I could connect with and impact so many people, even if it was the smallest and slightest thing to you.
There really was no master plan behind the blog, besides trying to share the absolute love I have for music, especially Hip-Hop. About a year and a half ago, I started on a simple blogspot, and now I’ve created over 3,100 posts, had over 160,000 page views, and over 100,000 visitors. Not too mention all the AMAZING people I’ve met along the way.
To put it into better perspective, J. Cole had his first Toronto show in Dec 2010 and I was there attending my first ever Hip-Hop concert being another eager audience member trying to sing along to one of my favorite rappers. Cole would end up coming back to Toronto about 9 months later, and when he did, I had already worked myself to be in a position to be backstage and be at that concert on work purposes.
Since then, I’ve seen Tyga, Rick Ross, Wale, Mac Miller, Method Man, Lupe Fiasco, Ghostface and a whole bunch of other acts all for free, all under media passes, and all in the name of FreshMFKer.
Anything you can imagine, you can get it. And the things you can’t even imagine, work hard, and you’ll get those too. Trust me, it’s hard, very hard sometimes to have faith and continue to push forward on a dream that seems to always be out of reach. Keep going.
I’m now apart of the hustleGRL team, acting as an official photographer. I’m also continuing to help blog for AlLindstrom, and hopefully soon I’ll be down in Texas shooting the SXSW music festival for UHTN. If you know Hip-Hop and the blogosphere, you’ll know that those sites mean something. Lost Ones will be in full steam shortly as well.
I’m trying my hardest to embody everything Hip-Hop and photography related, why? Because I fucking love this shit. I wouldn’t know what to do without it. I want to prove that a tall & lanky asian kid with a macbook, a blackberry, and a DSLR can make it to the pinnacle of the game.
I hope you all stay on this journey with me… all my latest endeavors and fiascoes will be chronicled at www.everythingwillbe.com. Thank you again. All the artists, the PR reps, the readers, the bloggers, anyone whose ever showed this blog love, thank you. I hope you know I didn’t take any of it for granted.
New beginnings, this city is mine.
